UK PFMI Level 2 Assessment: Payment Systems and CSDs/SSSs
CPMI and IOSCO published a Level 2 assessment evaluating whether UK legal, regulatory and oversight frameworks for systemically important payment systems (PSs) and central securities depositories/securities settlement systems (CSDs/SSSs) are complete and consistent with the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures (PFMI). The assessment covers frameworks in place as of 30 September 2023, with separate assessments for PSs (regulated by the Bank of England and Payment Systems Regulator) and CSDs/SSSs (regulated by the Bank of England).
2025 Investment Funds Statistics Report
IOSCO published its 2025 Investment Funds Statistics Report covering 38 member jurisdictions, 128,389 funds, and USD 72.6T in aggregate NAV, representing approximately 85% of the global investment funds industry. The report covers qualified hedge funds (QHFs), open-ended funds (OEFs), and closed-ended funds (CEFs), examining fund numbers, NAV, investment strategies, asset-class exposures, derivatives usage, leverage, liquidity risk, and counterparty risk. Gross and financial leverage remain structurally higher for QHFs than for OEFs and CEFs, while borrowing and leverage for OEFs and CEFs continue to be low in aggregate.
Good Practices for OTC Commodity Derivatives Markets Consultation
IOSCO has published a consultation report on proposed good practices for OTC commodity derivatives markets, seeking public comments by 19 June 2026. The report focuses on strengthening implementation of IOSCO Principles 12, 15, and 16, which address excessive commodity market volatility, OTC transparency, and orderly market functioning. Key areas include improving collection and aggregation of OTC derivatives position data, beneficial ownership identification, information-sharing among regulators and exchanges, and timely regulatory intervention policies to address disorderly market conditions.
