£60 Million Species Recovery Programme Funding for England

The UK government announced £60 million over three years for the Species Recovery Programme administered by Natural England, plus £30 million for species recovery on the national forest estate. OCC Announces April 2026 Enforcement Actions Against Banks and Former Bankers

The OCC released enforcement actions for April 2026 including a Consent Order against The Federal Savings Bank (Chicago, IL) for violations of Section 5 of the FTC Act related to deceptive acts or practices involving VA cash-out refinance loans with significant origination fees, increased interest rates, and increased monthly payments. Two former associate bankers—Shaira Ahmed at JPMorgan Chase Bank (Columbus, OH) and Marissa Murillo at BMO Bank N.A. (Chicago, IL)—received Orders of Prohibition for embezzling over $73,000 and making unauthorized withdrawals exceeding $164,000 respectively. The OCC also terminated three prior enforcement actions against CNB Bank & Trust, Generations Bank, and JPMorgan Chase Bank N.A.

FL AG Issues CIDs to Eight Major Corporations and Environmental Groups for Antitrust Investigation

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier issued Civil Investigative Demands (CIDs) to eight entities, including major corporations and environmental groups, as part of an investigation into potential antitrust violations. The investigation targets suspicions that corporations may have engaged in collusive partnerships through and with environmental groups that restricted trade, increased prices for consumers, and diminished free market competition. All subpoenaed documentation must be provided by May 27, 2026.
