What changed
This document is a meeting agenda for the CSLB Licensing Committee, scheduled for April 30, 2026. The agenda includes recognition of staff for completing exam digitization (5 of 56 exams now available nationwide, with estimated $70,000 annual savings), review of B-2 Residential Remodeling Certification statutory changes, and discussion of trade-specific licensing workshops.
Affected parties including licensed contractors, B-2 licensees seeking a General Building pathway, and trade associations should monitor the outcomes of this meeting. The proposed legislative language for BPC 7057.6 (structural framing certification) will be finalized at the June board meeting, and contractors interested in expanded certification options should follow this process. The exam digitization program, which began in August 2024 with an estimated 2027 completion, represents a significant operational change in how CSLB administers licensing examinations.
