Buying Agency Trading Fund Amendment Order 2026
Summary
The Buying Agency Trading Fund (Amendment) Order 2026, effective April 1, 2026, amends the 1991 Order to rename the Crown Commercial Service Trading Fund to the Government Commercial Agency Trading Fund. This change also revokes a previous amending order from 2014.
What changed
This Order, made on March 3, 2026, and effective April 1, 2026, formally changes the name of the Crown Commercial Service Trading Fund to the Government Commercial Agency Trading Fund. This amendment revises Article 3 of the Buying Agency Trading Fund Order 1991 and revokes the Buying Agency Trading Fund (Amendment) Order 2014, which had previously established the Crown Commercial Service Trading Fund name. The change is administrative and does not foresee any significant impact on the private, voluntary, or public sectors.
Regulated entities, primarily government agencies involved with the fund, should update their internal records and references to reflect the new name of the fund. No specific compliance actions or deadlines are mandated beyond updating internal documentation, as the change is primarily a renaming exercise. The explanatory note indicates no significant impact is foreseen, suggesting no immediate need for external stakeholder action beyond awareness of the name change.
What to do next
- Update internal records to reflect the name change from Crown Commercial Service Trading Fund to Government Commercial Agency Trading Fund.
