$23M Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program Grant Opportunity
The U.S. Department of Labor Veterans' Employment and Training Service announced $23 million in Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program grant funding. Eligible applicants include state and local workforce development boards, Native American governments, state agencies, for-profit and non-profit organizations, and institutions of higher education. Individual awards up to $500,000 annually ($1.5M total over 3 years) fund workplace skills training, Registered Apprenticeship programs, and employment placement services. Applications must be submitted via Grants.gov by March 6, 2026.
888 Employers Receive HIRE Vets Medallion Awards
The U.S. Department of Labor recognized 888 employers with the 2025 HIRE Vets Medallion Award at a ceremony on January 29, 2026, for their commitment to recruiting, employing, and retaining veterans. Recipients attested to meeting criteria including veteran hiring and retention rates, veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, and tuition assistance programs. Since the program's inception under the 2017 HIRE Vets Act, employers have hired nearly 290,000 veterans.
