Pennsylvania Unemployment Rate and Nonfarm Jobs Report
The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry released January 2026 preliminary employment data showing the state unemployment rate declined to 4.3% from 4.4% in December, matching the U.S. rate. Total nonfarm jobs reached a record high of 6,201,900, up 17,900 over the month and 35,500 year-over-year.

Mobile PA CareerLink Unit Launch in North Central Pennsylvania
The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry launched a new mobile PA CareerLink unit to serve six north central Pennsylvania counties (Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean, and Potter). This is the third mobile CareerLink unit in Pennsylvania, staffed with workforce professionals and funded through federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Adult funding. The mobile office will provide career services, training opportunities, and employer connections directly to rural communities where access to workforce services may be limited.

Pennsylvania Job Program for Students with Disabilities
The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry announced a visit to a job placement program in Lancaster that assists students with disabilities in preparing for college and careers. Pennsylvania Recovers $130,000 in Unpaid Wages from Construction Company
