Summary

The Oregon Employment Department and Department of Revenue are partnering to offer free tax filing assistance events across the state in February and March 2026. These events aim to help Oregon taxpayers file their federal and state personal income tax returns electronically with the assistance of volunteers.

What changed

The Oregon Employment Department, through its WorkSource Oregon centers, is collaborating with the Oregon Department of Revenue to host a series of free tax help events throughout February and March 2026. These events will provide in-person assistance to taxpayers for filing their federal and state personal income tax returns electronically, utilizing public-access computers and Wi-Fi. The initiative aims to simplify the tax filing process and help residents claim eligible credits.

Taxpayers planning to attend are encouraged to create a Revenue Online account beforehand and bring necessary documentation, including Social Security numbers, W-2s, 1099 forms, and bank account details for direct deposit. The events are scheduled at various WorkSource Oregon locations across the state, with specific dates and times provided in the announcement. This is a service-oriented initiative with no direct compliance obligations for regulated entities, but it offers a valuable resource for individuals.
