MSHA Technical Amendment: Update Agency Headquarters Address
Summary
The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) has issued a technical amendment to update its headquarters address in its published regulations. This rule, effective February 26, 2026, changes the official address from Arlington, VA to Washington, DC.
What changed
The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) has published a final rule, effective February 26, 2026, to technically amend its regulations. This amendment updates the agency's official headquarters address from Arlington, Virginia, to Washington, D.C., reflecting its recent relocation. The change impacts various parts of Title 30 of the Code of Federal Regulations concerning mine safety and health.
This is a procedural update and does not impose new obligations or alter existing safety standards for regulated entities. Compliance officers should note the updated address for any future correspondence or filings with MSHA, although no specific action is required by regulated parties as a direct result of this address change. The amendment is considered a technical correction rather than a substantive policy change.
