Employer Layoff and Closure Notification Requirements and Services
Maryland has updated regulations for the Economic Stabilization Act (ESA), requiring employers to provide 60-day notice for reductions in operations. These revised regulations, stemming from Senate Bill 780, become effective on October 13, 2025. The state also offers Rapid Response services to assist employers and impacted workers during layoff and closure events.
