BISSELL recalls 1.7 million Steam Shot OmniReach and Steam Shot Omni steam cleaners after reports that attachments can unexpectedly detach and expel hot water or steam. The affected model numbers include 4155 series and 4171 series sold nationwide from February 2020 through March 2026 for approximately $70-$100.

The CPSC urges consumers to stop using the recalled products immediately and contact BISSELL for a free repair kit. At least 12 incidents of attachments detaching have been reported, though no injuries have been confirmed.

Consumers who own these steam cleaners should check the model number on the product label and register at BISSELL's recall website to receive a free replacement attachment kit.
