HUD National Inspection Standards for HOME and HTF Programs
HUD published a notice providing guidance on the National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) for HOME Investment Partnerships and Housing Trust Fund programs. The notice aligns compliance dates and extends the NSPIRE final rule compliance deadline for HTF grantees to April 14, 2027. Participating jurisdictions and grantees with written agreements executed prior to the compliance date may continue complying with previous Housing Quality Standards and Uniform Physical Condition Standards.

Rural Capacity Building 60-Day Notice FR-7094-N-07

HUD is requesting a 60-day public comment period on the renewal of Form HUD-903, the Housing Discrimination Complaint form used to collect information from persons filing complaints under the Fair Housing Act and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) with HUD's Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO). The form also includes information regarding FHEO's VAWA enforcement authority granted under the 2022 VAWA reauthorization. Comments are due June 8, 2026.

Privacy Act Notice - Customer Relationship Management Systems
HUD's Office of Field Policy and Management published a notice to modify the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Systems Privacy Act System of Records Notice (SORN), consolidating One Stop Customer Service, HUD Central, and Microsoft Dynamics under one notice. The modifications include clarifying changes to System Manager, Categories of Records, and Policies and Practices for Retention and Disposal. Comments are due by May 6, 2026.
HUD withdraws Fair Housing guidance documents
HUD's Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) has withdrawn all existing guidance documents that fail three criteria: (1) statutorily prescribed, (2) interpretation consistent with statute/regulation, and/or (3) decreasing compliance burdens. The withdrawal, effective September 17, 2025, is part of a comprehensive review under Executive Orders 14192 and 14219 to reduce unnecessary compliance burdens. Regulated parties should note that guidance is non-binding and does not create substantive rights.
Privacy Act System of Records Notice for ServiceNow Platform
HUD's Office of Chief Information Officer and Infrastructure and Operations published a Privacy Act System of Records Notice (SORN) for the ServiceNow SaaS platform. The system supports helpdesk operations, IT management, asset tracking, facilities management, HR activities, and financial planning functions. Public comments on this proposed system of records are due by May 6, 2026.
HUD Privacy Act Notice - SORN Modification Correction and Comment Reopening
HUD published a correction notice reopening the public comment period until May 6, 2026, on a modification to remove the Do Not Pay routine use from the Single Family Mortgage Insurance Origination System SORN. The original notice at 91 FR 2137 (January 16, 2026) contained a substantive omission that HUD is now correcting. The first modification (adding a routine use for fraud prevention under E.O. 14249) became effective on February 18, 2026.
