Abstract
A tip cap to close a fluid passageway extending through a distal tip of a medical container. The medical container including an adaptor mounted onto the distal tip and having a threaded inner portion. The tip cap including an inner cap sealingly engageable with the tip. Said inner cap being made of an elastomeric material and including a skirt extending in proximal direction. An inner surface of said skirt being configured to sealingly engage an outer surface of the tip of the medical container, a rigid outer cap securely disposed around said inner cap. Said outer cap including a threaded outer portion adapted to engage the threaded inner portion of the adaptor. The proximal edge of the skirt of the inner cap is aligned with the proximal edge of the outer cap.
