New Interactive Dashboard Displays Ohio Kindergarten Immunization Data
Summary
The Ohio Department of Health announced the launch of a new interactive dashboard displaying kindergarten immunization data on the state DataOhio Portal. The dashboard provides current vaccine rates, exemption rates, and specific vaccine information (MMR, DTaP) by county, school, and across years from 2017-2018 to 2025-26. The dashboard supports informed decision-making by school officials, parents, and policymakers to help protect children from vaccine-preventable diseases.
What changed
The Ohio Department of Health launched a new public dashboard on the DataOhio Portal making kindergarten immunization data accessible to the public. The dashboard displays vaccine rates and exemption rates by county, specific vaccine type (including MMR and DTaP), and individual schools for school years 2017-2018 through 2025-2026. Ohio law already requires schools to report immunization data to ODH annually; this dashboard does not create new reporting obligations but makes existing data more accessible.\n\nSchools and school officials do not face new compliance requirements from this announcement. The dashboard serves as a transparency and public health communication tool, allowing parents, school administrators, and public health authorities to monitor vaccination coverage and exemption trends in their communities. Educational institutions should be aware the data is now publicly accessible and may be used to assess community risk for vaccine-preventable diseases.

(COLUMBUS) -- Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Director Bruce Vanderhoff, MD, MBA, today announced the launch of a new dashboard that makes Ohio’s kindergarten immunization data easily accessible to the public.
The dashboard, titled “ Annual Ohio Kindergarten Immunization Level Assessment,” is now live on the state’s DataOhio Portal.
“This interactive dashboard gives Ohioans a wealth of important, accessible information,” Dr. Vanderhoff said. “By making this data easier to understand and explore, we hope to support informed decision making that will help protect children and families from vaccine preventable diseases.”
Immunizations offer the best protection against a range of serious diseases. This new dashboard provides valuable information to school officials, parents, and decision makers about the potential risk of vaccine preventable diseases in their community.
Ohio law requires all schools to report summary immunization data to ODH each year. The new dashboard allows Ohioans to access kindergarten immunization data showing current vaccine rates and exemption rates by county, specific vaccine (MMR, DTaP, etc.), and by school.
The user-friendly dashboard features data from the 2017-2018 school year to the current year (2025-26) and will be updated annually.
