The center, operated by Promise Resource Network (PRN), will provide a peaceful space for residents to manage their mental health.

What changed

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) is announcing a groundbreaking ceremony for a new respite center in Cabarrus County, operated by the Promise Resource Network (PRN). NCDHHS has provided $998,683 in funding for this project, which aims to offer a peer-run, peaceful environment for individuals to take a break and regain balance.

This event is primarily informational, inviting credentialed media to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 25, 2026. While the announcement details the funding and the purpose of the respite center, it does not impose new regulatory requirements or compliance obligations on healthcare providers. The center itself is a service offering, supported by NCDHHS funding.
