Hemodialysis Device With Blood Filtration Pressure Control
Summary
The USPTO published patent application US20260097158A1 for a hemodialysis device featuring blood filtration pressure control, filed October 24, 2022, Application No. 18996043, invented by Kosho Matsuzaki and Masayuki Fujii. The device includes a replacement fluid passage between dialysate and blood circuits with first and second flow rate restriction devices, along with connection portion and vein-side pressure sensors. A control device adjusts the second flow rate restriction device opening degree multiple times per cycle based on measured pressures.
What changed
The USPTO published patent application US20260097158A1 for a hemodialysis device with blood filtration pressure control mechanisms. The device integrates a replacement fluid passage between dialysate and blood circuits, equipped with dual flow rate restriction devices and multiple pressure sensors. The control system adjusts the second flow rate restriction device opening degree multiple times per cycle based on real-time pressure measurements from the connection portion and vein-side sensors.
For medical device manufacturers in the dialysis equipment space, this patent application indicates competitive activity in pressure-controlled hemodialysis technology and may inform R&D and IP strategy decisions. Healthcare providers offering dialysis services should monitor for potential licensing or product availability implications as the application progresses toward grant.

Abstract
A hemodialysis device including a replacement fluid passage between a dialysate circuit and a blood circuit, the dialysate circuit and the replacement fluid passage being respectively provided with first and second flow rate restriction devices. Also provided is a connection portion pressure sensor for measuring a pressure of a connection portion between a dialysate supply passage and the replacement fluid passage, and a vein-side pressure sensor for measuring a pressure of the blood circuit. A control device adjusts an opening degree of the second flow rate restriction device multiple times based on the measured pressure of the connection portion pressure sensor, and the measured pressure of the vein-side pressure sensor, for one round, being from when a supply compartment of a chamber provided to the dialysate circuit is filled with a fresh dialysate until all of the fresh dialysate in the supply compartment has been discharged.
