Zetol Antiseptic Recall Pakistan Public Alert 021/2026

NAFDAC issued Public Alert No. 021/2026 on March 25, 2026, advising the public of a recall of Zetol Antiseptic (batch BOOO1, Chloroxylenol, 100ml and 1L) manufactured by UNCUS BROTHERS, 23 KM Multan Road, Lahore, Pakistan. The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) found the product is being sold without prior evaluation, registration, or approval and that its packaging closely resembles registered brand Dettol, potentially misleading consumers. NAFDAC instructed all zonal directors and state coordinators to conduct surveillance and remove any unregistered or counterfeit products found in their jurisdictions.

Warns of Unregistered Coglaet Herbal and ActivGel Toothpaste

NAFDAC Post-Marketing Surveillance discovered two unregistered counterfeit toothpaste products, Coglaet ActivGel 100g and Coglaet Herbal 100g, at a retail outlet in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Both products list Guangzhou YECAI Oral Cleaning Products Co., Ltd. as the stated manufacturer and lack NAFDAC registration numbers and batch numbers. The products were removed from sale and surveillance operations are ongoing to track distributors. Zonal directors and state coordinators have been instructed to conduct surveillance and mop up unregistered products if found.

Alert on Counterfeit Proguanil Tablets (Projeanil and Re-granil) Found in Nigeria

NAFDAC issued Public Alert No. 023/2026 warning of counterfeit Proguanil tablets (Projeanil and Re-granil, both 100mg B.P.) bearing fake NAFDAC Registration Number 04-6433 in Nigeria. The fraudulent registration number belongs to Feroglobin B12 Capsules by Vitabiotics Nigeria, not the counterfeit antimalarial products. NAFDAC zonal directors and state coordinators have been directed to conduct surveillance and remove any products found in circulation. Healthcare professionals, distributors, retailers, and caregivers are advised to verify product authenticity, avoid unauthorized suppliers, and report any suspected falsified products.
