What changed

The Governor of Maryland has issued a proclamation designating April 20-24, 2026 as Maryland Home Visiting Week. The proclamation acknowledges the importance of early childhood home visiting programs and parenting education in supporting child brain development, family relationships, and equity. This is a ceremonial declaration with no binding legal effect — it does not impose any regulatory requirements, reporting obligations, or compliance deadlines on any party.

For organizations involved in home visiting services or early childhood programs, this proclamation represents public recognition of their sector but does not alter licensing, funding, or operational requirements. Healthcare providers, social services agencies, and early childhood educators should note this as an informational observance rather than a regulatory development requiring any changes to current practices.
