What changed
The USPTO has published patent application US20260112494A1, filed December 17, 2025, covering methods and systems for generating a Type-II diabetes (T2DM) diabetic status prediction model using voice samples. The invention involves collecting voice samples from training subjects at multiple time points, each sample associated with a corresponding diabetic status label; determining a plurality of voice feature values for each sample; and generating the diabetic status model based on those samples and feature values.
Affected parties include healthcare technology developers, medical device manufacturers, and companies developing non-invasive diabetes monitoring solutions. This patent filing represents potential IP protection for voice-based health diagnostics, which could affect competitive positioning in the digital health and AI-driven medical screening space. Organizations developing similar acoustic-based health monitoring tools should review this application to assess potential freedom-to-operate implications.

Abstract
Provided are methods and systems for generating a type-II (T2DM) diabetic status prediction model, the method comprising: providing, at a memory: a plurality of diabetic status labels identifying a corresponding diabetic status for a plurality of training subjects; and a plurality of voice samples collected from the plurality of training subjects at a plurality of time points, each of the voice samples in the plurality of voice samples associated with a corresponding diabetic status label in the plurality of diabetic status labels; determining, at the processor, a plurality of voice feature values for a corresponding plurality of voice features for each of the voice samples in the plurality of voice samples; and generating at the processor, the diabetic status model based on the plurality of voice samples and the plurality of voice feature values.
