Environmental Stewardship Scheme Query Form
Summary
The Rural Payments Agency (RPA) has published a query form for Environmental Stewardship (ES) agreement holders to raise questions about their ES payments, claims, or disagreements with RPA decisions. The form can be submitted via email to ruralpayments@defra.gov.uk, by post to Environmental Stewardship PO Box 390, Worksop, or through the Rural Payments online service. This is an administrative tool to help farmers and land managers query their ES agreements.
What changed
The Rural Payments Agency published this query form as an administrative tool for ES agreement holders. It specifies when to use the form (disputing payments, disagreeing with calculations, sending additional evidence, or challenging decisions) versus when to use the Rural Payments online service. The form provides RPA contact details including email, postal address, and helpline. This publication does not create new compliance obligations but standardises the query submission process for agricultural scheme participants.
Affected parties (farmers, land managers with ES agreements) should use this form when they need to formally query or dispute ES payments or decisions. The form does not modify scheme rules or eligibility criteria—it merely provides a structured channel for communication with RPA.
What to do next
- Review Environmental Stewardship scheme rules before submitting
- Submit the query form to RPA via email, post, or Rural Payments online service
- Use separate emails for multiple queries
