What changed
The VA National Cemetery Administration is seeking public comments on a revision to an existing approved information collection used to verify eligibility for burial in national cemeteries. The collection (OMB Control No. 2900-0232) collects information from applicants to verify burial eligibility, schedule interments, and provide services to decedents' families. The estimated burden is 150,000 respondents at 15 minutes each, totaling 37,500 annual burden hours.
Regulated entities and interested parties may submit comments through www.regulations.gov by June 1, 2026. Comments should address whether the proposed collection is necessary, the accuracy of burden estimates, and ways to enhance quality or reduce burden. No new compliance requirements are being imposed—this notice is purely administrative under the PRA process.
