MEDIA INVITATION INFORMATION REGULATOR HOSTS THE 2026/27 ANNUAL PERFORMANCE PLAN STAKEHOLDER CONSULTATIVE SESSION IN EMALAHLENI 26 FEBRUARY 2026 The Information Regulator (Regulator) will host its second Stakeholder Consultative Session on 05 March 2026. This follows the Regulator recently concluding its planning process for the 2026/27 financial year, after a robust internal consultation and deliberations through the
organisation's wide governance structures.
The objective of this session is to create an open environment for stakeholders to interact with the Regulator and solicit stakeholder inputs to the plan, and to encourage stakeholder
participation in the implementation of the Regulator's mandate, through compliance with both
the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA). In this engagement it will present highlights and reflect on activities the Regulator has embarked on in protecting and promoting the right to privacy and the right of access to information and outline the key priorities of the Regulator for the 2026/27 financial year.
