What changed

H.R.8322 extends the repeal date of Title VII of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act from its prior expiration trigger to April 30, 2026, and updates related transition procedure references accordingly. The bill amends Section 403(b) of the FISA Amendments Act of 2008 and corresponding provisions in 18 U.S.C. 2511 note.

Affected parties subject to FISA surveillance authorities, including intelligence agencies and telecommunications providers subject to legal process under these provisions, should note the extended operational window through April 30, 2026. This is a standard legislative reauthorization of existing surveillance authorities rather than an expansion of surveillance powers.
