RICHMOND, VA — Governor Abigail Spanberger today — on her 100th day in office — released a new video reflecting on her work to make life more affordable and strengthen Virginia’s economy, and pledging a continued focus on providing the steady, pragmatic leadership Virginians deserve.

In her first 100 days in office, Governor Spanberger has remained laser-focused on building a safer, stronger, and more affordable Virginia. The Governor has signed bipartisan legislation to lower costs for families, announced more than $4.7 billion in new business investment creating more than 3,000 new jobs across the Commonwealth, and worked to contend with the uncertainty coming from Washington that is making life more expensive for all Virginians.

Since January, Governor Spanberger has worked alongside legislators from both parties to make healthcare, housing, and energy more affordable, accessible, and reliable for Virginians. The Governor recently signed her entire Affordable Virginia Agenda — a package of bills to address high housing, healthcare, and energy costs announced by the Governor and General Assembly in December — into law.

Spanberger: As Governor, my job is to make sure it stays that way. 100 days into my administration, we’ve hit the ground running.

Spanberger: We’ve worked to tackle the high cost of living, because everyone is feeling the impacts of reckless economic policies coming out of Washington.

Spanberger: And I’m happy to report that my Affordable Virginia Agenda is now law.

News Broadcast: Governor Abigail Spanberger signed a batch of affordability bills into law today. They focus on healthcare, housing, and energy.

News Broadcast: Governor Spanberger is celebrating a series of new laws aimed at expanding worker protections across Virginia.

News Broadcast: Virginia will have a paid family and medical leave program starting in 2028.

Spanberger: We also have announced new business investments across the Commonwealth.

Spanberger: But it’s not just about policy, it’s about approach. I’m a pragmatist. Always have been.

Spanberger: I also know that Democrats, Republicans, Independents... Virginians. We all want our Commonwealth to succeed.

Spanberger: I still believe what I said on inauguration day: That our leaders and our fellow Virginians should join in common cause, find common ground, and pursue common purpose. That is the concept at the heart of what it means to be a Commonwealth. This is what it means to be United for Virginia’s Future.

Spanberger: After all, we live in a Commonwealth. And that should be a call to action.

Spanberger: Finding common ground, pursuing a common purpose, working towards commonsense solutions.

Spanberger: It’s also been guiding our work for these first 100 days and will continue to guide our work into the future.
