Connecticut Launches Statewide Battery Storage Program with $7,500 Max Residential Incentive

PURA announced the launch of Energy Storage Solutions, a nine-year statewide battery storage program administered by the Connecticut Green Bank, Eversource, and United Illuminating. The program, effective January 1, 2022 and running through December 2030, provides residential customers upfront incentives of approximately $200 per kWh with a $7,500 maximum per project, while commercial and industrial customers can receive up to 50% of project costs. Additional incentives are available for low-income customers, underserved communities, and those experiencing frequent storm outages.

Revised Electric Standard Service Generation Rates to Take Effect July 1

CT PURA advises Eversource and United Illuminating customers of revised standard service generation rates effective July 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022. Eversource rate increases to 12.050 cents/kWh; UI rate increases to 10.620 cents/kWh. Rates reflect historically high natural gas prices driven by supply chain constraints and geopolitical tensions.
