2017 News Releases Archive Index
Summary
The Georgia Public Service Commission posted its 2017 news releases archive, indexing multiple regulatory announcements including the continued construction approval for Plant Vogtle nuclear units 3 and 4 with conditions reducing Georgia Power's revenue requirement by $1.7 billion, expansion of the Hearing Aid Distribution Program through a revised reimbursement structure, and verification of nuclear construction monitoring expenses. The archive covers various PSC activities spanning utility regulation, consumer programs, and administrative matters.
What changed
This document is an archive index page listing Georgia Public Service Commission's 2017 news releases. It does not create new regulatory obligations or substantive policy changes. The archived releases cover multiple PSC activities including utility rate regulation, consumer assistance programs, nuclear construction monitoring, and administrative announcements. The most substantive items involve the Vogtle nuclear project (construction approval with $1.7 billion revenue reduction) and the Hearing Aid Distribution Program expansion. This index serves as a reference compilation of completed regulatory communications rather than a regulatory action itself.
For compliance professionals and legal staff reviewing this archive, the index provides historical context for the PSC's regulatory trajectory during 2017. The documented actions (Vogtle construction monitoring, consumer program oversight) reflect ongoing regulatory functions rather than new compliance mandates. Entities regulated by or interacting with the GA PSC, including utility companies and consumer advocates, may find the archived communications useful for understanding the Commission's regulatory approach during that period.
