Summary

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) heard the case Sayyed Mohammed Sabir Usman vs Union of India on March 24, 2026. The tribunal granted an adjournment of four weeks to Respondent Nos. 17 & 18 to file a reply to objections concerning specific interlocutory applications.

What changed

This document details a procedural hearing before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) concerning Original Application No. 101 of 2019 (WZ) and associated interlocutory applications. The primary action taken during this hearing was the granting of an adjournment for four weeks to Respondent Nos. 17 & 18. This was requested to allow them time to file a reply to objections concerning I.A. Nos. 137 of 2026 & 140/2026 (WZ), which were served late.

For regulated entities involved in this specific case, the immediate implication is a delay in proceedings. The next hearing is scheduled for June 22, 2026. While this is a procedural matter for the parties involved, it highlights the ongoing nature of environmental litigation and the importance of timely responses to legal filings. Compliance officers in related industries should note that environmental disputes can lead to extended legal processes.
