What changed
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MO DNR) has awarded a $50,000 Clean Water Engineering Report Grant to the city of Mountain Grove. This grant is intended to fund an evaluation of the city's wastewater system, aiming to identify improvements necessary for reliable service and to reduce stormwater inflow and infiltration into sewer collection pipes. The city is expected to complete its facility plan in November 2027.
This is a funding announcement for a specific municipality's infrastructure assessment. While it highlights the MO DNR's commitment to water infrastructure and mentions funding opportunities through its Financial Assistance Center (partially funded by the EPA), it does not impose new obligations or direct actions on other regulated entities. Compliance officers should note this as an example of state-level environmental infrastructure funding.
