Summary

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) Western Zone Bench in Pune heard the environmental case Jaymala Dhankikar vs. State of Maharashtra. The tribunal directed respondent no. 2 to file its objections on record and issued notices to respondents no. 3 and 5, setting the next hearing for April 27, 2026.

What changed

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) Western Zone Bench, Pune, addressed Original Application No. 92/2025(WZ) concerning an environmental matter. The tribunal noted that respondent no. 2 had filed objections but they were not on record, directing the counsel to submit them within two days. Notices were issued to respondents no. 3 and 5, who had not appeared, with service affidavits to be submitted within one week. Respondent no. 1 stated they would not file a reply affidavit.

This hearing indicates ongoing litigation regarding environmental compliance. Key actions required include ensuring objections are filed and served, and that respondents no. 3 and 5 are properly served. The matter is scheduled for further consideration on April 27, 2026, and regulated entities involved should ensure compliance with tribunal directives and prepare for subsequent proceedings.

What to do next

  1. Ensure respondent no. 2's objections are filed with the Registry within two days.
  2. Submit service affidavits for respondents no. 3 and 5 within one week.
  3. Prepare for the next hearing on April 27, 2026.
