What changed
Iowa DNR published enforcement actions documenting five cases resolved through consent orders and administrative orders. Penalties totaled $23,000 with additional compliance obligations including wastewater facility construction deadlines (City of Lake Mills by December 31, 2027) and certification surrenders for Jesse Eister and Dustin Tromblay with recertification restrictions until 2027-2029.
Affected parties including agricultural cooperatives, municipal governments, and individuals performing wastewater operations should review these enforcement actions to understand DNR enforcement patterns. Open burning violations resulted in the largest penalty ($9,000), while certification violations resulted in both monetary penalties and operational restrictions.
