About Hawaiian Electric’s Application

On December 19, 2025, Hawaiian Electric filed an Application requesting that the Commission approve the Amended and Restated Power Purchase Agreement for Renewable Dispatchable Generation, by and between Hawaiian Electric and Puʻuloa Solar LLC, relating to the 6-megawatt photovoltaic project paired with a battery energy storage system (“Project”).

As part of the Project, Hawaiian Electric proposes to construct an overhead 46 kV sub-transmission line extension near the intersection of Salt Lake Boulevard and Namur Road to interconnect the Project to Hawaiian Electric’s system. The proposed overhead line extension will span approximately 70 feet south of the Project’s substation, on land owned by Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam.

The Commission will review Hawaiian Electric’s application to determine whether the request is just and reasonable.
