Summary

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued a notice revising the procedural schedule for the relicensing applications of Great Lakes Hydro America, LLC's Ripogenus Hydroelectric Project and Penobscot Mills Hydroelectric Project. The notice updates the target date for issuing the Notice of Acceptance/Ready for Environmental Analysis to June 10, 2026.

What changed

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued a notice updating the procedural schedule for the relicensing applications of Great Lakes Hydro America, LLC (GLHA) for two hydroelectric projects. The original schedule anticipated issuing a Notice of Acceptance/Ready for Environmental Analysis by November 2025. This revised notice pushes that milestone to June 10, 2026, with potential for further revisions.

This notice primarily affects parties involved in the relicensing process for Projects No. 2572 and 2458. While this is a procedural update and does not impose new compliance obligations, it provides a revised timeline for key environmental review milestones. Interested parties should note the updated target date for the Notice of Acceptance/Ready for Environmental Analysis and consult the full notice for any other schedule adjustments. Questions can be directed to Allan Creamer at FERC.
