CTE Funding Up $65M, 3,000 More Students Enroll
Under the Shapiro Administration, funding for career and technical education (CTE) in Pennsylvania has increased by $65 million — nearly 50 percent — since Governor Shapiro took office in 2023, resulting in an additional 3,000 students enrolling in CTE classes across the Commonwealth. The Tunkhannock Area School District received $39 million in Basic Education Funding and Ready to Learn Block Grant funding over the past three years. The district saw the percentage of students earning at least one industry-recognized credential rise from 33.5 percent during 2022-23 to more than 56 percent during 2024-25.
