Summary

The Department of Education published a correction notice for the Teacher and School Leader (TSL) Incentive Program grant competition in the Federal Register. The notice corrects details in a prior announcement regarding the competitive grant program designed to support high-need schools in recruiting and retaining effective teachers and school leaders. The deadline for transmittal of applications is June 9, 2026.

What changed

The Department of Education published a correction to the Teacher and School Leader Incentive Program competition notice, addressing errors or omissions in a prior Federal Register document. The correction affects potential applicants seeking grants to develop and implement performance-based compensation systems for teachers and school leaders in high-need schools.\n\nEligible applicants including state educational agencies, local educational agencies, and nonprofit organizations should review the corrected notice to ensure their applications meet all requirements. The June 9, 2026 application deadline remains in effect. This is a routine administrative correction that does not create new compliance obligations but clarifies existing program parameters.

What to do next

  1. Monitor for updates to TSL Incentive Program application requirements
  2. Submit applications by June 9, 2026 deadline
