SELFIE for Teachers Reaches Over 100,000 European Users

SELFIE for TEACHERS, a free online tool developed by the European Commission to support teachers in building digital skills, has reached over 100,000 users across Europe. Most users are primary school teachers from Spain, Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Germany. The tool provides a personalised feedback report with tips on embedding technology in teaching practice and is part of the European Commission's Digital Education Action Plan 2021-2027. Future plans include an interface overhaul, simplified group coordination for school-wide use, and expansion into the Early Childhood Education and Care sector.

SELFIE for TEACHERS Trains 6,100+ Greek eTwinning Teachers in Digital Competence

The eTwinning office in Greece ran a nationwide action in 2023 to train teachers in the pedagogical use of digital technologies, including educational robotics, mobile devices, AI, and 3D printing. Fifteen online courses were delivered with over 6,100 participants and 164 trainers, using the SELFIE for TEACHERS self-assessment tool to identify digital competence gaps before training and measure progress afterwards. Findings showed that participants perceived their digital skills to have advanced by at least 15% by the conclusion of the courses.

SELFIEforTEACHERS Self-Reflection Tool Now Available for Early Childhood Educators

The European Commission has made the SELFIEforTEACHERS self-reflection tool available to early childhood educators across EU Member States. The tool, previously offered to primary and secondary educators, has been adapted to support early childhood professionals in reflecting on how digital tools and technologies can enhance their professional practices. No mandatory compliance obligations arise from this announcement.
