What changed

The Department of Defense, through the Department of the Navy, has issued a notice announcing a meeting of the U.S. Naval Academy Board of Visitors. The meeting is scheduled for April 13, 2026, at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. It will include an open session from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ET to discuss the state of morale, discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, and academic methods. A closed session will follow from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET to address administrative or minor disciplinary infractions involving midshipmen, as disclosure of such information would constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy.

Compliance officers should note the meeting details for awareness, particularly regarding the closed session's subject matter which pertains to midshipman conduct violations. While this is an informational notice and does not impose new direct compliance obligations, it highlights the ongoing oversight of the Naval Academy's operations. Interested parties may submit written statements by contacting the Executive Secretary at least five business days prior to the meeting to coordinate access or submit comments.
