Trustee v. Winston & Strawn LLP Motion Granted in Part

The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas granted in part and denied in part the Motion to Dismiss filed by Winston & Strawn LLP and Michael Blankenship in Adversary Proceeding No. 25-03105-MVL. The Trustee, Scott M. Seidel, alleged legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duties in connection with GloriFi's failed De-SPAC transaction, claiming the firm's representation caused the company's valuation to plummet from $1.7 billion to zero. The court dismissed certain claims while allowing others to proceed after hearing arguments on January 6, 2026.

Richmont Capital Partners VII LP Motion to Dismiss Ruling

The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas issued a Memorandum Opinion and Order on April 15, 2026, granting in part and denying in part a Motion to Dismiss filed by Defendants John P. Rochon, John Rochon Jr., and Heidi Rochon Hafer in Adversary Proceeding No. 25-03042-mvl. The Boeckman Parties had invested $2,175,000 in Richmont Capital Partners VII, LP between January 2022 and May 2023 based on representations about a fully automated algorithmic trading platform called Rally, ultimately suffering losses of $2,068,796.11. The court allowed certain claims to proceed while dismissing others, with the ruling based on jurisdiction under 28 U.S.C. § 1334 as a non-core proceeding.

In re Jason Rudolph Stanford - Automatic Stay Violation Ruling

The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas issued a memorandum opinion and order resolving the Trustee's Motion for Sanctions and Contempt for Willful Violation of the Automatic Stay (Docket Nos. 423 and 424) in the Chapter 11 case of Jason Rudolph Stanford, Case No. 24-44120-ELM. The Court granted the Motion in part and denied it in part, finding that the Debtor violated 11 U.S.C. § 362(a) with respect to causes of action owned by the Estate. The Debtor's counter-requests for relief against the Trustee, including requests for the Trustee's removal and for contempt sanctions against the Trustee, were denied in all respects.
