Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that Dominic A. Murphy, 26, was sentenced to 32-64 months in state prison plus five years probation for possessing hundreds of images of child sexual abuse material. Miguel A. Nunez, 40, was sentenced to 39-78 months in state prison for aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault of a woman at a gentlemen's club in Luzerne County.
What changed
Dominic A. Murphy of Lycoming County pleaded guilty to multiple felonies related to child sexual abuse material and was sentenced to 32-64 months in state prison with five years probation and 15-year sex offender registration. Miguel A. Nunez of Schuylkill County was convicted after a three-day trial for aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault at a gentlemen's club in 2022 and received 39-78 months in state prison with lifetime sex offender registration. Both cases were prosecuted by the Office of Attorney General's Child Predator Section in Luzerne County Court.
These sentencing outcomes demonstrate ongoing enforcement of sexual assault and child exploitation laws in Pennsylvania. The defendants must comply with sex offender registration requirements as part of their sentences. The Pennsylvania Attorney General's office emphasized that these convictions should serve as a deterrent, signaling that sexual crimes will be aggressively prosecuted in the state.

HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that two men were sentenced to state prison this week for separate sexual misconduct crimes in Luzerne County.
Dominic A. Murphy, 26, was sentenced to 32 to 64 months in prison, plus five years of probation, for possessing hundreds of images of child sexual abuse material.
Miguel A. Nunez, 40, was sentenced to 39 to 78 months in prison for aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault of a woman dancing at a gentlemen’s club in 2022.
”These convictions and state prison sentences should send a message that sexual deviance will not be tolerated in Pennsylvania,” Attorney General Sunday said. “I commend our team and the partners involved in investigations that led to successful prosecutions of these two defendants.”
Both sentences were ordered Thursday in Luzerne County Court.
Murphy, of Lycoming County, pleaded guilty last year to several felonies regarding material found by the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section. As part of the sentence, Murphy must register as a sex offender for 15 years. Deputy Attorney General Mary Phillips prosecuted the case.
Nunez, of Schuylkill County, was convicted in November after a three-day trial. As part of the sentence, he must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. Deputy Attorney General Rachael Coleman prosecuted the case.
