Attorney General Coleman Secures Prison Time for Former Magoffin County Middle School Teacher
FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 19, 2026) – Attorney General Russell Coleman announced today action from the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit will send a former Magoffin County Middle School teacher to prison.
On Thursday, Jordan Cobb, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of Procuring the Use of Minor by Electronic Means (Class D Felony) and one count of Harassing Communications (Class B Misdemeanor).
According to charges filed in Magoffin Circuit Court, in May 2023, Cobb used Snapchat to communicate with a 14-year-old student. He sent pictures of his genitalia and messages to the student, encouraging her to have sexual intercourse with him. A year later, he sent threatening messages to the same victim through Facebook.
Under the terms of Thursday’s plea agreement, Cobb agreed to a five-year sentence and will be ineligible for probation. The sentence will run concurrent with federal charges related to the same investigation.
