Summary

The Maryland Supreme Court has ordered the indefinite suspension of attorney Bryan S. Ross from the practice of law in the state. This action follows a joint petition and is a result of violations of Rules 19-308.4(c) and (d) concerning professional conduct.

What changed

The Maryland Supreme Court issued an order on March 20, 2026, indefinitely suspending attorney Bryan S. Ross from practicing law in the state. The suspension is based on violations of Maryland Rules of Professional Conduct 19-308.4(c) and (d), which typically relate to dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation, and conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice.

This order signifies a severe disciplinary action against Mr. Ross, effectively barring him from legal practice in Maryland until further notice or until conditions for reinstatement are met. The Clerk of the Court is directed to notify relevant parties as per Maryland Rule 19-761. Compliance officers in legal firms should note this disciplinary action as an example of stringent enforcement of professional conduct rules.

What to do next

  1. Review professional conduct rules 19-308.4(c) and (d) for applicability to your practice.
  2. Ensure all legal professionals within the firm are aware of the implications of these rules.
  3. Consult with legal counsel regarding any potential ethical concerns arising from similar conduct.
