Trade Secrets Originality Certificates Issued Electronically in English

The Ministry of Intellectual Property announced improved procedures for issuing certificates verifying original documents of trade secrets, effective April 10, 2026. Applicants may now receive certificates electronically and in standardized English format without making physical visits to designated certification agencies. Certificates became eligible for Apostille authentication in September 2025, supporting companies' use of the documents abroad.

MOIP and Indonesia Ministry of Law Sign IP Enforcement MoU

The Ministry of Intellectual Property (MOIP) of Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on IP Protection and Enforcement with Indonesia's Ministry of Law on April 1, 2026, in Seoul. The agreement was exchanged in the presence of the heads of both states and covers three cooperation areas: establishing an IP enforcement cooperation network, joint responses to counterfeit goods distribution, and enhanced cooperation under the RCEP framework for well-known trademark protection and bad-faith trademark applications.
