Jeannie Jiwon Park - Attorney Resignation in Good Standing
Summary
The Hawaii Supreme Court granted attorney Jeannie Jiwon Park's petition to resign from the practice of law in good standing. The court ordered her removal from the roll of attorneys (attorney number 8082), effective upon filing. She must comply with continuing notice, declaration, and record-keeping requirements under RSCH Rule 2.16.
What changed
The Hawaii Supreme Court granted attorney Jeannie Jiwon Park's petition to resign from the practice of law in Hawaii under RSCH Rule 1.10. The court ordered her name removed from the official roll of attorneys, effective immediately upon filing. As a condition of the resignation in good standing, Petitioner must comply with ongoing notice, declaration, and record requirements under RSCH Rule 2.16(a), (b), (d), and (g). The order also permits retention of her paper law license as a memento.
For affected parties, this represents a routine administrative action resulting from a voluntary resignation rather than a disciplinary proceeding. Unlike disbarment or suspension, this resignation in good standing does not carry any finding of misconduct or prohibition on future reinstatement applications. The obligations under RSCH Rule 2.16 that survive the resignation primarily concern record maintenance and client notification for transition purposes, which the Petitioner must address through the declaration process.
