Secretary Raffensperger to Host FIN FIT Webinar “Finfluencers: Hype, Help, or Hazard”
April 14th, 2026 Atlanta -Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger is pleased to announce that his office will be hosting a FIN FIT webinar on Thursday, May 14 at 6pm titled, “Finfluencers: Hype, Help, or Hazard”
“The world of financial advice has moved from behind a desk to our phones or computers. While this shift offers greater access it also comes with greater risks,” said Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. “We appreciate the rise in financial literacy, but our priority remains to make sure that as information goes viral, the fundamental principles of investor protection and accountability don’t get lost in the feed.”
Financial advice is no longer confined to boardrooms and bank branches — it now lives on reels, livestreams, and trending feeds. Finfluencers are reshaping how people learn about investing, wealth-building, and financial freedom, often reaching millions in seconds. But as influence grows, so do questions around credibility, accountability, and risk. Join us as we explore whether finfluencers are empowering investors with access and insight or fueling hype that could do more harm than good.
