Muscccm Pool Drain Covers Recalled Due to Entrapment and Drowning Hazards; About 480 Units
Summary
CPSC announced a recall of about 480 Muscccm pool drain covers sold on Amazon from February through March 2026 for approximately $19. The recalled covers violate the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act entrapment protection standards, posing entrapment and drowning hazards to swimmers and bathers. Consumers are offered a refund upon removing the drain cover and submitting a photo to SZ Hengxun.
What changed
CPSC has determined that Muscccm pool drain covers violate the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act (VGBA), which establishes mandatory federal standards for pool and spa drain entrapment protection. The 480 affected units were sold on Amazon from February through March 2026. This recall amends the market status of these non-compliant products and mandates manufacturer notification to consumers.
Pool owners, operators, and consumers should immediately cease use of the recalled covers and contact SZ Hengxun to obtain a refund. The absence of reported injuries does not diminish the serious potential for entrapment and drowning, particularly for children. Manufacturers and retailers distributing pool equipment in the US must ensure compliance with VGBA requirements to avoid similar recalls.
What to do next
- Stop using pools with the recalled Muscccm drain covers immediately
- Remove the drain cover, photograph it, and email the photo to MuscccmRecall@126.com to receive a refund
- Ensure all pools and spas have VGBA-compliant drain covers
