Summary

CPSC announced a Fast Track recall of approximately 1,365 Head Ski Boots sold in the United States due to fluorescent yellow boot shell and sole insert materials that can deteriorate and break, posing a fall hazard. Head USA will provide free replacement boots or sole inserts upon return of the recalled products. No injuries have been reported.

What changed

CPSC and Head USA Inc. announced a Fast Track recall for Head Ski Boots with fluorescent yellow shell materials (model years 2016–2022) and fluorescent yellow sole inserts. The affected products were sold nationwide at ski retailers and online from September 2015 through March 2026 for $500–$750. The deteriorating materials create a fall hazard, prompting the recall.

Retailers and consumers who purchased these ski boots should immediately cease use and contact Head USA or an authorized retailer to obtain free replacements. The recall number is 26-395, and additional units (approximately 525) were sold in Canada under Health Canada's alert.

What to do next

  1. Immediately stop using the recalled ski boots
  2. Contact Head USA at 800-874-3235 to arrange free replacement boots (shell materials) or free replacement sole inserts
  3. Return recalled boots to an authorized Head retailer or submit via Head's online recalls portal
