What changed

The Mississippi Gaming Commission has formally rescinded Industry Letter No. 2021-01, which had imposed COVID-19 requirements on licensed casino operators. The rescission takes effect April 30, 2021 at 5:00 pm CST, eliminating all Mississippi-specific gaming commission COVID-19 mandates for the casino industry.

Licensed casino operators in Mississippi will no longer be subject to COVID-19 protocols mandated by the Gaming Commission, effectively returning operational decisions to individual operators. However, operators remain obligated to comply with applicable state and local COVID-19 rules and ordinances, which may continue to impose separate requirements independent of this rescission.
