Visitor Analysis System and Method for Vehicle Tracking via Distributed Cameras
Summary
USPTO published patent application US20260094173A1 by NEC Corporation for a visitor analysis system that uses distributed cameras to identify vehicles entering a prescribed region and traces their start point by matching vehicle images with timestamped location data. The system comprises an access unit, vehicle identifying unit, and start point identifying unit. No compliance obligations or deadlines are associated with this publication.
What changed
NEC Corporation filed patent application US20260094173A1 for a visitor analysis system that tracks vehicles on roads using distributed camera networks. The system identifies vehicles entering a prescribed region and determines their start point by collating vehicle data with timestamped and location-tagged images from the camera group. Key components include an access unit that retrieves data from image recording devices, a vehicle identifying unit that detects entries, and a start point identifying unit that matches vehicles to their imaged positions. CPC classifications include G06Q 30/0201, G06Q 30/0266, and G08G 1/0175.

Abstract
This visitor analysis system comprises: an access unit that accesses an image recording device of an information system that includes a camera group, which is disposed in a distributed manner in a prescribed area and which is for imaging a vehicle traveling on a road in said area, and said image recording device, which stores data about the time at which the vehicle was imaged and data about the site at which the vehicle was imaged in association with each other; a vehicle identifying unit that identifies a vehicle that has entered a prescribed region; and a start point identifying unit that collates the identified vehicle with an image stored in the image recording device, and identifies the start point of the vehicle on the basis of the data on the time and the data on the site that have been associated with the matching image.
