The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (9 April) that the official foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong amounted to US$430.8 billion as at the end of March 2026 (end-February 2026: US$439.3 billion) (Annex).
Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, the foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong at the end of March 2026 amounted to US$430.5 billion (end-February 2026: US$439.3 billion).
The total foreign currency reserve assets of US$430.8 billion represent over five times the currency in circulation or about 38% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
