Florida Financial Services License Renewal Open
Summary
The Florida Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) has opened the license renewal period for various financial services businesses. Businesses and individuals must complete renewals by specific deadlines in December 2024 and January 2025 to maintain active license status.
What changed
The Florida Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) has announced that the license renewal process is now open for businesses and individuals licensed under several Florida Statutes, including those related to dealers, investment advisers, mortgage lending, and collection agencies. The notice specifies different renewal portals (CRD, IARD, OFR REAL, NMLS) and distinct deadlines for various license types, ranging from December 26, 2024, to January 2, 2025.
Regulated entities must ensure they complete the renewal process through the correct portal by the applicable deadline to avoid license inactivation. Failure to renew will prohibit the conduct of business until a license is reactivated or a new one is granted. Compliance officers should verify their specific license type and adhere to the corresponding renewal procedures and dates.
What to do next
- Identify specific license types held by the business.
- Determine the correct renewal portal (CRD, IARD, OFR REAL, NMLS) for each license type.
- Complete all required license renewals by the applicable deadlines: December 26, 2024; December 31, 2024; or January 2, 2025.
Penalties
If your license is inactive or expired, you are prohibited from conducting business until you reactivate your license or apply and are granted a new license.
