FRA Chairman Dr. Islam Azzam Meets Third-Party Administrators on Medical Insurance Sector Development

FRA Chairman Dr. Islam Azzam convened a meeting with representatives of Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) to advance the strategic development of Egypt's medical insurance sector under the Unified Insurance Law No. 155 of 2024, which for the first time formally integrates TPAs into the non-banking financial services (NBFS) ecosystem. Six companies have received provisional licenses, with several more under review. In accordance with Board Resolution No. 229 of 2025, all active firms must regularize their status and meet specified regulatory standards by July 10, 2026. The new framework prohibits TPAs from selling, marketing, or brokering insurance products, and mandates conflict-of-interest policies, data privacy controls, and governance-aligned financial disclosures.

FRA Vice Chairman Meets New EGX Chairman to Discuss Capital Market Reforms

FRA Vice Chairman Mohamed Al-Sayyad received the newly appointed EGX Chairman Omar Radwan and Vice Chairman Mohamed Sabry on Thursday, April 23, 2026, marking Radwan's second visit to the Authority following his appointment decree issued earlier that week. The meeting focused on strategic coordination to upgrade capital market frameworks and enhance operational efficiency of short selling, with particular attention to transitioning temporarily listed companies toward final listing and IPO readiness. FRA also discussed promotional efforts and potential amendments to listing rules designed to attract new listings and streamline procedures for currently listed companies.

Future Leadership Programme Session on Non-Banking Financial Sector Leadership Standards

FRA Egypt, chaired by Dr. Islam Azzam, organized a Future Leadership Programme panel discussion on April 26, 2026, through a strategic partnership with the Financial Services Institute (FSI) and Global Growth Institute (GGI) in London. The session brought together FRA leaders and sector experts to discuss developing leadership capabilities, governance principles, and strategic decision-making frameworks for Egypt's non-banking financial sector. Training programs cover certifications including Certified Board Member, Qualified CEO, GRC, Corporate Secretary, and specialized topics such as underwriting, reinsurance, investment, risk management, compliance, and Anti-Money Laundering.

The Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) hosted a delegation from Cairo National University on April 24, 2026, for an educational site visit. The delegation, headed by Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, President of the University, included students from Politics, Economics, Law, and Business Administration programs. The visit featured a tour of FRA headquarters and the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), with FRA officials discussing financial literacy initiatives, non-banking financial sectors, and prospects for student training on financial derivatives.
