| ## Rockdale  County…
Weekend Lane Closures on I-20 in Conyers for Reconstruction/Widening Project

ATLANTA METRO — Crews for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will install lane closures on Interstate 20 (I-20) eastbound and westbound in the City of Conyers, Rockdale County this weekend. These activities are related to the GDOT I-20 at State Route (SR) 138/SR 20 Reconstruction and Widening Project to widen the existing Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) overpass bridge at I-20 and provide additional access to I-20 westbound.

Weather and on-site conditions permitting, beginning 9 p.m. on Friday, April 24 until 5 a.m. on Monday, two left lanes will be closed on I-20 westbound between West Avenue (exit 80) and Salem Road (exit 82).

The I-20 at SR 138/SR 20 Reconstruction and Widening project will provide additional traffic capacity by replacing the existing six-lane DDI bridge over I-20 with a new, widened bridge with eight lanes (four lanes in each direction), dual left turn lanes in each direction and sidewalks. In addition, the project will provide direct access to I-20 westbound from Dogwood Drive and a mini-roundabout at Dogwood Drive at the western entrance to Conyers Plaza. This $83.6 million project is scheduled for completion in summer 2028.
